Importing an image

Show your design, pixel perfectly just by dragging it in

This tutorial shows screenshots from a previous version of Rotato, so they might look slightly different on your Mac. We will be posting an updated tutorial shortly!

You can drag virtually any image file format onto the 3D device in Rotato and see its content on the display immediately. No more fiddling with materials and shaders, it just works, and here's how to do it.

How to do it

  1. Find your image file in Finder (click the 'i' next to the scene to find the right size)
  2. Drag it onto the 3D device in Rotato

Figma

You can also install Rotato's Figma Mockup plugin to use Rotato right inside Figma.

Nice to know

Make sure the size of your imported image matches the device in Rotato. Next to the scene's name, you can click the little 'i' icon and see the size you'll need.

Nice to know

When you save a scene, the image is embedded in the file. No need to distribute the image alongside the .rotato file. To keep the file size small, this is not the case for videos.
