Moving the camera

Find the perfect angle just by moving your mouse or typing in a number

Rotato lets you move the camera to get any angle you want, fast.

Rotating

When rotating the phone in Roato, you are orbiting the camera around the mockup device scene.

Mouse

Drag anywhere on the 3D scene to rotate the camera around the mockup device.

  • Hold the Option key to snap to the most common angles.

Keyboard

  • Hold Command while pressing an arrow key to rotate in that direction.
  • Hold Command and Option while pressing an arrow key to tilt the z-axis.

Widget

Click on any of the buttons in the rotation part of the camera widget at the bottom of the scene.

  • Green buttons tilt the mockup top and bottom (X).
  • Red buttons tilt the mockup sides (Y).
  • Blue arrows rotate the Z-axis.
The widget is a shortcut to all possible angles

Click the down arrow at the top of the sidebar to reveal the precise camera controls.

  • Enter values directly
  • Drag the label to change values and dial in your rotation by experimenting.
You can drag on the label or insert a precise number

Panning

Trackpad

Hold Option while dragging on your trackpad with two fingers. You will see snap alignment guides when you approach the scene's center.

Keyboard

Use the arrow buttons to pan. Hold Shift to move in smaller steps.

Widget

Place your mouse cursor on the Move hand in the widget. Click and hold the mouse button while dragging.

Open the precise camera controls by clicking the down arrow button at the top of the sidebar.

  • Change the x and y values to pan.
  • You can also drag the field labels

Zooming

Mouse

Use the scroll wheel on your mouse or scroll with two fingers on your trackpad

Widget

Place your mouse cursor on the magnifying glass in the widget. Click and hold the mouse button while dragging.

Open the precise camera controls by clicking the down arrow button at the top of the sidebar.

  • Change the z value to zoom
  • You can also drag the field label

Tip: Place your mouse on the label below the field and drag it to experiment with values.
